This is a fantastic ercol oak-framed reclining armchair, from the 1930s interwar period.
The chair has been fully reupholstered with brand new seat and back cushions, making for a comfortable spot to rest yourself – because with this chair you won’t need to get up again.
Why not? Well, the solid oak frame provides ample arm (and book and drink) rests, and the reclining back can be adjusted to your most comfortable position – perfect for a little post-lunch snooze…
As featured on page 23 of Lesley Jackson’s “ercol: furniture in the making”, this chair design was an integral part of the early success of Furniture Industries Limited – the company that would become the ercol of today.
Increasingly rare to find in such lovely condition, and with gorgeous upholstery that ensures many more years of comfortable reading and relaxation.
