Something a little unusual for us – a vintage Woodbine Cigarette vending machine
Manufactured in the 1930s by Brecknell Dolman & Rogers Ltd engineers in Bristol, this particular machine was in use up until the 1970s – it still contains its inspection booklet! It was then rescued from a closing down Rugby club, and has made its way to us.
The solid oak cabinet has been gently cleaned, and shows only minor marks commensurate with age. The gently curved corners feature lovely dovetail joints. The working condition is untested, due to it needing old style 10 pence pieces, but we have no reason to suspect it would not work.
In addition to the two cigarette cards displayed in the door, seven other brand cards are included inside and can easily be swapped out if you have a particular favourite nostalgic brand!
A rare find in such good condition, with the additional cards and inspection booklet, it makes for a great decorative item.
