Now, I know it’s a little previous to be bidding farewell to this dumpster fire of a year, but gasp! This is my last blog for 2020, so it feels appropriate to be flipping the last 12 months the bird as I walk out the door.
However, we still have a few more weeks to go, and to counter-balance my ‘burn it all to the ground’ attitude I hold these two pieces of knowledge in my mind;
- There have been a ton of great things in the last year.
- 1st January is not a magical date when all the world’s problems will be solved.
2021 will start, at least, feeling very much the same as the tail end of 2020. That’s ok. It’ll take a while to get going. But there’s hope on the horizon, and that’s where we’re headed.
This year’s been a stinker, for many reasons, for many people, and for some more than others. But maybe you got something good out of it too – more time with your loved ones, less time commuting. Maybe you’ve become a Zoom master or taught your Granny how to Facetime. Maybe you’ve learned how to bake, or to do a push up, or perhaps you’ve revelled in not having to shower and put on proper clothes for days on end. Whatever has worked for you, hold on to it and take it with you into 2021. The rest of it can do one.
So, all that remains is for me to wish you the happiest Christmas you can muster, and to wish you the knowledge that if it’s not quite what you want this year, we can always aim for an absolutely bangin’ Easter.
Merry everything and a happy always,
