Spring is my favourite time of year. There’s so much potential in the air, so many new possibilities as everything starts to wake up after the long winter sleep. Colour starts to creep back into the world, and there are days (admittedly, they may be few and far between) when the sun is warm on your face. Everything’s better with the sun on your face.
Spring makes me feel like I can do all sorts of things. I get crazy ideas in spring for things I wouldn’t even consider attempting in the depths of winter. I get restless and a bit fidgety, like I want to DO ALL THE THINGS.
Except…you know. As I said this time last year, there’s not a lot of ‘going out and doing things’ on the cards right now. Not to mention the fact that it’s ridiculously cold still. Perhaps it’s simply the fact that we’ve all just had to keep going for so long, without the usual things that top up our energy levels – socialising, hugging, eating together, visiting new places – but my Spring Time Energy is feeling a little low this time around. Last year I had hoped we’d have a little more of a restful, restorative spring – this year I’m hoping for gentle, careful, sweet steps towards change of circumstance.
Not the energetic explosion I usually enjoy at this time of year, but no less precious.
Take care vintage lovers,
